Gluten’Alarm – Gluten Intolerance Test

Gluten’Alarm is a rapid immunodiagnostic test for detecting IgA-class anti-tTG antibodies in the blood. In cases of gluten intolerance, specific IgA antibodies are produced against tTG (tissue transglutaminase). Celiac disease occurs in genetically predisposed individuals. For the result to be reliable, the test should be performed while the person is following their regular diet (which contains gluten).

The Gluten’Alarm test should be performed if symptoms of gluten intolerance occur, such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, and bloating, as well as extraintestinal symptoms, such as neurological and psychological symptoms, e.g., low mood. In children, slow growth, poor weight gain, and a distended abdomen are often observed. The test is also performed on individuals whose family members have already been diagnosed with the condition.
