Liver-Screen - ALT and AST liver function test

Liver-Screen is a rapid immunodiagnostic test for detecting elevated levels of transaminases in the blood (both ALT and AST). In cases of liver damage, transaminases are released by the liver into the bloodstream.

The Liver-Screen test should be performed if symptoms suggestive of liver damage occur—dark urine, pale stools, loss of appetite, yellowing of the eyes or skin, abdominal swelling, weakness, or fatigue.

The test is also performed as part of liver disease prevention.
